Since being on the GAPS diet we have started juicing more regularly. Our goal is 3x a week, and when things aren’t completely hectic in our lives (like now!) we do that pretty well. A lot of people forsake juicing because of cost and time, but we really feel like it is a great energy boost for our tired bodies ,and nicely supplements our diet with tons of quickly absorbed nutrients that our bodies really need. When me and the hubs work together, we can do this from start to finish in 15 minutes.
When everyone gets a big glass of our ‘juice-smoothie’
Try to aim for at least 50% vegetables that aren’t sweet and 50% sweet veggies and fruit
→ celery, kale/spinach, beet leaves, cucumber, parsley
→ sweet: grapefruit, apples, carrots, beets, orange, lime, lemon, ginger, pineapple
‘Juice’ chosen produce in juicer.
Pour juice into blender adding in:
homemade sour cream/coconut milk
1-2 pastured egg yolks
handful of ice-cubes
stevia to taste (or a frozen banana)
Blend together until frothy and creamy. Enjoy!
